We are committed to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles.

At our serviced office and co-working space in Norwich,  As part of this commitment, we are excited to introduce our “Trees for Employees” initiative. For each employee that takes space in our office, we will plant a tree right here in the UK. This program not only benefits the environment but also offers a tangible, local way for businesses to engage with their ESG goals.

Understanding ESG
ESG stands for Environmental, Social, and Governance. These three criteria are used to measure the sustainability and societal impact of an investment in a company or business.

  • Environmental: This criterion examines how a company performs as a steward of nature. Our tree-planting initiative directly supports this by enhancing carbon capture and biodiversity
  • Social: This looks at how a company manages relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, and the communities where it operates. By planting trees, we contribute positively to the community and offer employees a meaningful benefit
  • Governance: This deals with a company’s leadership, executive pay, audits, internal controls, and shareholder rights. Our initiative demonstrates a commitment to ethical practices and long-term sustainability.

The Benefits of Our Tree Planting Initiative

Local Impact and Transparency
Many tree-planting initiatives face challenges due to their locations in tropical countries, making it difficult for donors to audit and visit the sites. Our tree planting, however, will be right here in the UK. This ensures that the carbon capture and biodiversity benefits happen locally, and companies can easily visit and monitor their trees.

Annual Open Day and Engagement
We believe in transparency and community engagement. Therefore, we plan to enhance our service by providing detailed information on the types of trees planted. Companies will be invited to attend an annual open day to visit the site, see their trees, and even pick fruit if they have chosen fruit-bearing trees. This hands-on approach allows businesses to directly engage with their environmental contributions and enjoy the beautiful farmland environment where the trees are grown.

Pure and Sustainable Environment
Our trees are nurtured in a completely pure environment. They are irrigated with rainwater and spring water, ensuring they thrive without the need for industrial fertilizers, biocides, herbicides, fungicides, or pesticides. Additionally, we nurture the soil microbiome in a completely natural way by adding organic material from the land and biochar made from tree cuttings. This method not only enriches the soil but also captures carbon, contributing further to our environmental goals.

Sponsor a What3words Grid Area
In addition to our tree planting initiative, companies can sponsor specific what3words grid areas where their trees will be planted. Each tree in these areas will be labeled with the company name and the names of specific employees. We will send annual photos to the company, showing how the trees are doing. If any trees fail for any reason, they will be replaced free of charge. This service includes:

  • Selection and Planting: Choosing the right species for the location and planting them properly
  • Tree Guards: Protecting young trees from rabbits and deer for the first three years.
  • Free Replacement: Replacing any failed trees at no additional cost

To cover these services, including annual updates and maintenance, there will be an annual fee.

Using Tree Photos for Social Media

Small businesses can leverage photographs and images of the trees they have planted to showcase their commitment to sustainability on social media. These images can be shared on various platforms to demonstrate to followers and clients how they are actively working towards a sustainable future. By highlighting their participation in our “Trees for Employees” initiative, businesses can enhance their brand image and attract environmentally-conscious customers. Contact David on 01603 338410.
