The objective

When we inherited these beautiful buildings, it was immediately apparent that we needed to improve the energy efficiency of both the fabric and heating systems. After a comprehensive renovation, which included a full rewire and the replacement of all lights, light fittings, plug sockets, and distribution boards/fuse boards, the transformation began. Key upgrades included the complete removal of the outdated fire alarm system and cabling, replaced with modern protective and addressable fire alarms. We also addressed legacy plumbing issues to provide healthy drinking water for clients. Additionally, we installed an advanced heating system with independent controls for each room, added extra insulation, and repaired windows to eliminate drafts. Internal floors are now insulated between each level, turning what was once a draughty and cold building that overheated in summer into a pleasant place to work year-round.

Thanks to these extensive improvements, the EPC rating of our building improved from a G to a B, an exceptional achievement for a building of this style and age.
